Here is a great Jell-O shot recipe that was a hit over the Easter weekend. I had fun making this one, but even more fun eating them with the fam.
As you can see the shot is predominately orange with a sparkle of green. Although it turned out to look pretty good, that result was not my intention. I wanted to have an even layer of orange and green, but I didn't wait long enough to pour the next layer on. So if you like the look of this one, wait 40 mins before pouring the next layer OR if you want the even layers wait an hour and a bit (so that it isn't completely set, but almost there).
Recipe:
Peach Layer
1 pkg Peach Jell-O
1/2 pkg Knox Gelatin
1 cup Water
3/4 cup Peach Schnapps
1/4 cup Cold water
Tropical Layer
1 pkg Tropical Jell-O
1/2 pkg Knox Gelatin
1 cup Water
3/4 cup Banana Mailbu
1/4 cup Cold Water
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, heat the water and 1/2 pkg of Knox Gelatin. Continuously stir until the gelatin is dissolved. Continue stirring for a moment of two until the water almost reaches boiling point. Add the Peach Jell-O and stir until completely dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in Peach Schnapps and water. Pour into an 8x10 baking pan. Place in refrigerator.
Clean the saucepan and return to stove. Wait until the peach layer is almost set to begin next step. Add the water and 1/2 pkg of gelatin to saucepan and heat on medium-low. Continuously stir until the gelatin is dissolved. Continue stirring for a moment of two until the water almost reaches boiling point. Add the Tropical Jell-O and stir until completely dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in Banana Malibu and water.
Now to create the layer without puncturing the first layer, wait a moment or two for the mixture to cool down. Pour the Tropical mixture on the back of a spatula to ensure even distribution (and so it won't puncture the Peach layer). Place in refrigerator.
Let set for at least 3-4 hours, if not overnight. To serve, use a sharp knife (preferably a boning knife). Cut even squares, and be careful removing from pan (the first one is always messy). Serve on a plate as in or with a tooth-pick!
